Why I am Passionate About Therapy

Hi, I’m Priscilla (she/her). Therapy changed my life, not by removing the hard stuff, but by giving me the tools to face it with more strength, clarity, and self-respect. Over time, I became more aligned with my own values, more authentic in my relationships, and more at peace within myself.

I know what it’s like to feel disconnected, to silence your own needs, and to carry pain that hides in the shadows. I also know how powerful it is to feel truly seen, supported, and gently invited back to yourself. That’s at the heart of why I became a counsellor and psychotherapist.

 

I walk beside my clients with care, kindness, and integrity, bringing both formal training and lived experience. My calling is to support you in discovering the kind of healing and reconnection I’ve found. When you begin to meet yourself with curiosity and compassion, everything starts to shift.

Life’s hardest moments can become turning points. Therapy gave me that chance and it’s both humbling and an honour to hold that space for others.

What is Gestalt Counselling and Psychotherapy?

At Rising Phoenix Counselling, I offer Gestalt therapy as a dynamic, relational, and holistic approach to mental health and personal growth. This therapeutic style goes beyond techniques. It’s about presence, connection, and the way we relate. Rather than analysing or diagnosing, I sit beside you as your therapist, supporting emotional awareness, personal responsibility, and the unfolding of new possibilities.

We all carry “unfinished business”, unresolved emotions or protective patterns that once served us but may no longer do. In our counselling sessions, these can be brought into awareness, explored compassionately and integrated at your pace. 

 

We may gently work with creative experiments, two-chair dialogue, or somatic awareness.
